Health Careers

Last Updated: 9/22/2023 6:34 PM

The Health Careers program provides training for students who wish to pursue a career in nursing or other medical-related fields.  Students are immersed in a rigorous course of study that integrates important concepts in science, math, and skill-based training.  This program includes an honors option and will prepare students to obtain a variety of related credentials to prepare students to enter the workforce upon graduation, enter college, and beyond.

In order to become eligible to take the Rhode Island Department of Health Certified Nursing Assistant exam, students must accumulate a minimum of forty clinical hours in off-site healthcare facilities.   Due to the ongoing COVID-19 regulations, the Department of Health requires students in a CNA training program, volunteers, and healthcare workers to be vaccinated to work, train, or volunteer in a healthcare facility.  Our partner sites include West View Nursing Home, Alpine Nursing Home, St. Elizabeth’s, and Riverview Rehabilitation and Health Center.

Students can receive a science credit upon completing Health Careers 4.
