1100 AD: PUBLIC RECORDS
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this directive is to provide an orderly process for accurately
and efficiently reporting on or releasing public records or information
requested by citizens.
PROCEDURE:
When a request for public record information is made, a Public Information
Request Form shall be completed by the person making the request or the person
receiving the request if by phone, and forwarded to the superintendent for
approval and follow-up direction.
A copy of the form containing the superintendent’s action shall be forwarded to
the person designated to determine the availability of and provide the
information, or the person making the request if said request has been denied.
Upon determination of availability and subsequent assembling of the requested
material, the office releasing the information shall fill out the remainder of
the request form, and disseminate the materials to the superintendent for
release authorization.
Any fee charged for materials or services rendered in compliance with this
policy shall be at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools.
